Better Than Rice Krispy Treats - Peanut Butter Style

These treats were a wonderful mistake!!!

I was making Rice Krispy Treats and decided to use a little peanut butter.  'Cuz at my house, treats are just better with a little PB.

I reached into my pantry for the Rice Krispies and they were almost gone.  What to do, what to do.

Not to worry, I had a whole box of Corn Chex.

I used those instead and, let me tell you, these treats did not disappoint!

So here's the recipe . . . I know you're dying to make some right. now.

{Better Than Rice Krispy Treats}

1 stick butter

3/4 c peanut butter {I didn't say these were healthy . . .}

1 bag marshmallows

5 or 6 cups Corn Chex

1/2 cup chocolate chips, melted

I always make my Rice Krispy Treats on the stove.  But if you do yours in the microwave, that's cool, too.  We can still be friends :)

Melt your butter and peanut butter over medium heat.  Add your marshmallows and melt those all the way, too.  No lumps, please.

Remove from heat and add your Corn Chex.  I didn't measure mine, but if you go for 5 or 6 cups, that will maybe be enough, depending on how gooey you want them.  If you want a little more, just pour a little more!  Really, these are hard to mess up.

Then, in a greased jelly roll pan, pour your mixture and press into the pan.  Mine didn't fill the whole pan, which means yours probably won't either.  That's okay.  Promise.

{TIP}:  Get your hands wet, then press it into the pan.  It totally works!  I do this with Rice Krispy Treats, too.  The marshmallowy stuff won't stick to your hands and you can press to your little heart's content.

You will now have this deliciousness:

Now you can add the melted chocolate chips.  Just melt in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until all the chocolate chips are melted.  Drizzle with a spoon over the entire pan of gooey goodness, er, cereal mixture. 

Just like Rice Krispy Treats, let the mixture cool before cutting.

And yummy-yum-yum, you have yourself a super delicious treat!!!

But beware, I'm pretty sure you will eat four more than one, like me.

Easter Printable!

I decided it was time to do another printable!

Since it is Easter, I wanted to do a religious printable.

After all, the whole reason we celebrate Easter is to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  And I don't have any religious decorations for Easter.

So here is the printable!

I made it as an 8x10.  Just right-click to save it to your computer.

I usually download mine to Walmart.com and pick it up at my local Walmart, but for some reason my Walmart was having problems and wasn't letting me order it for the 1-hour photo printing :(

So I don't have any pictures of it framed.

Why I love the thrift store . . .

Thrift stores used to scare me.

Seriously.

I looked around and all I saw was other people's crap.

Now, I get excited to go to the thrift store!

There are so many hidden treasures waiting to be discovered there.

Things that just need a little . . . something to make them special.

Here are my thrift store treasures from this past week:

Each and every one of these things will get some spray paint.

Don't you love that mirror??  It's a mirror-tray, but after it gets a few coats of some spray-paint, it may be hanging on my wall somewhere . . .

And that lamp - I'm so excited about that lamp!  It will be gorgeous when I'm done with it.  Mwah ha ha ha!

And the plate and the vase will become one project.  Just needs a little glue and, you guessed it, spray paint!

Now if only it would warm up around here so that I could actually get these projects done.  It's been snowing here, which means no spray paint.  Which means no projects.  Which means :( for me!

Well I did!  And I'm excited about it!  After all, 30 is the new 20, right??? 

Spring Banner

I made this fun, bright and cheery Spring banner to hang in my house!

It's almost like the one I made for my 100 Followers Giveaway, but I decided to add some burlap.  And I couldn't find my twine so I hot-glued it onto a piece of ribbon.

It was so easy to make -

I cut everything out {except the burlap} on my Cricut.  Then I used a glue stick to glue it all together.  I used a bowl to trace a circle on the burlap and cut it out, then spray-glued it on.

And, of course, I had to add a little bling!

I love decorating for the seasons!  It's fun changing things up a bit in my house.  Keeps things fresh and new :)

I had everything on-hand so the banner cost me nothing!
